Riesling Kallstadter Steinacker 1G 2023
Riesling Kallstadter Steinacker 1G
Riesling Kallstadter Steinacker 1G
Fresh lime with juicy minerality.
In the glass, this Riesling displays a bright, almost silvery-shimmering golden yellow – like morning dew on fresh limestone. Clear and precise in appearance, with a delicate sheen that hints at tension and freshness. No theatrical color – rather, understatement with depth.
The nose is like a walk over wet stone, flanked by lime zest and acacia blossoms. The aroma is cool, almost edgy – with notes of green apple, apricot, and a hint of petrol, which shows: this is Riesling with backbone, not a beginner's wine.
On the palate, this wine immediately grabs you – with acidity so grippy you could almost ignite it. Juicy apple, lime, a touch of yeast cream, and a salty finish provide structure and length. The finish is silky, yet with plenty of forward drive.
The Kallstadt Steinacker brings with it a lime-rich soil structure, interspersed with loess – perfect soil for mineral depth. The vinification is classic in stainless steel tanks, spontaneously fermented, with some time on the fine lees. The result: a Riesling with a clear terroir connection and a tight texture.
