Crianza Magnum 2018
Crianza Magnum
Cabernet Sauvignon
Crianza Magnum
Blackberry & Dark Chocolate
In the glass, this Tempranillo presents itself in a deep, dense cherry red with a violet rim – almost like liquid velvet with a hint of ink. The color already promises what the wine delivers in character: dark depth, power, and substance with a subtly seductive sheen.
The nose is a wild ride through dark aromatic worlds: blackberry, blackcurrant, and ripe cherry are prominent. These are joined by sweet and spicy notes of licorice, roasted cocoa, mocha, and a hint of vanilla – like a box of chocolates with Spanish temperament.
In the mouth, the wine is powerful yet not ostentatious. Juicy fruit meets finely polished tannins that spread across the tongue like cashmere. Wood and fruit interlock like cogs in a luxury watch – dry, full-bodied, with a long, slightly salty finish.
The vines are rooted in the calcareous clay soil by the Duero River – a golden zone for Tempranillo. Maturation in barrique barrels brings balance and structure: 15 months in French and American oak. The result: a wine with character, depth, and a perfect wood-fruit balance.
Dehesa de los Canonigos is one of the great historical estates of the Ribera del Duero and one of the best Tempranillo producers – and all without any “brand stickers”.
Ribera del Duero - This region produces Spain's most expensive red wines, and it's teeming with names that command hundreds of euros per bottle – Pingus, Vega Sicilia, Emilio Moro, and many more.
These are the neighbors of Belen and Ivan, who are now running their Dehesa los Canonigos for the 5th generation. The name translates to "Pasture of the Canons" and refers to the canons of the cathedral in Valladolid and their possessions in the region.
The two siblings form a perfect team. Belen's domain is the wine cellar, while Ivan handles the management of the winery and the accompanying agricultural land. With great passion, the two siblings produce wines that can easily compete with their neighbors: they manage to reach the top at a fair price. In 2025, the winery was ranked number 1 among all wineries by the renowned magazine "Verema". Without purchased "brand labels".
