Weinbeschreibung

Floral citrus with a hint of tree fruit.

In the glass, the Carricante displays a clear, pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. Its appearance is cool and precise, with medium viscosity. This suits a wine that focuses less on opulence and more on freshness, tension, and its origins.

On the palate, this Carricante conveys vibrant acidity, lending the wine tension and a lean yet present backbone. The fruity citrus notes are complemented by saline minerality and a subtle tree fruit tonic, all within a balanced, clearly structured mouthfeel with a clean, precise finish.

Lively and refreshing with a light but present acidity. On the palate there is a balanced combination of citrus fruits, mineral notes and a hint of tree fruit.

This Carricante comes from old vines grown naturally at high altitude on volcanic soils in Sicily, and is carefully hand-harvested. Gentle whole-bunch pressing and fermentation exclusively in stainless steel tanks emphasize the pure fruit and mineral origin, which is why the wine clearly shows its provenance and is characterized by precision rather than opulence.

The Alberelli di Giodo winery, founded in 2016 by Carlo Ferrini, is located 950 meters above sea level on Mount Etna. With a vineyard area of around 1.5 hectares and natural cultivation, it produces around 9,000 bottles annually. Ferrini, an experienced oenologist, relies on the unique conditions of the volcano to create elegant and spicy wines of the highest quality.
