Weinbeschreibung

Pear meets Smoked Almond

In the glass, it presents a rich golden yellow with subtle copper reflections – a color that immediately promises depth and maturity. Not a fleeting summer wine, but one that visually signals: time has played a role here – and in the best possible way.

The nose is not dominated by overt fruit, but rather by a precise mosaic: yellow pear, ripe mirabelle, smoked almond, a touch of butter, and fine yeasty spice. This is accompanied by a hint of cream and subtle oak. Nothing loud – but incredibly complex and elegantly interwoven.

Dry as chalk on the palate, with taut, vibrant acidity and that creamy grip that only prolonged lees aging brings. Yellow fruit (peach, pear), fine smokiness, slightly salty minerality and a subtle bitter note on the finish – everything is in place, everything has structure.

This wine spent seven winters on its full lees – a deliberately slow maturation that brings depth and creaminess. The cuvée of Pinot Gris and Chardonnay comes from volcanic loess and limestone soils in the Kaiserstuhl – ideal conditions for structure, finesse, and mineral tension.
