Cristom Vineyards
Biodynamic jewel from Oregon.
Cristom Vineyards, founded in 1992 in Oregon, combines the Gerrie family heritage with biodynamic viticulture. Cristom is one of the most renowned addresses for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Oregon.
Tradition meets innovation: The Gerrie family focuses on sustainable premium winemaking in the Willamette Valley, Oregon.
Cristom Vineyards, a family business in the Eola-Amity Hills of Oregon since 1992, is a prime example of a successful family winery that masters the balancing act between sustainability and performance. The Gerrie family, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, named the winery after their children Christina and Tom (ChRIS-TOM) in 1992 and is committed to producing exceptional wines. The winery primarily cultivates Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on a vineyard area of around 36 hectares. The winery's philosophy is based on a deep connection to nature and the belief that the quality of the wine is already decided in the vineyard. Cristom Vineyards is characterized by its family atmosphere, with the second generation of the Gerrie family, with Tom Gerrie as winemaker in particular, committed to maintaining the heritage and further developing innovative viticulture and cellar techniques. Their ecological focus and biodynamic farming methods contribute to the uniqueness of their wines, which are highly recognized in the wine world, especially in America but also recently in Europe. In 2023, the winery was among the top 100 wineries in the world by Wine & Spirits magazine for the eighth year in a row. The wines are served in the best restaurants in the world.
Committed to nature and the environment.
Cristom Vineyards follows a sustainable and environmentally conscious winemaking strategy. By using biodynamic and organic farming methods, the winery promotes biodiversity and soil health. The integration of agro-ecological principles and permaculture into the management of their vineyards reflects their commitment to sustainable agriculture. These environmentally friendly practices not only ensure the quality of the wines, but also protect the natural ecosystem and help preserve the landscape for future generations.
Authenticity in every drop.
The philosophy of Cristom Vineyards is based on honesty and authenticity. From the careful care of each vine to the gentle processing of the grapes in the wine cellar. Winemaking is an expression of respect for nature and the terroir. The use of native yeasts and the emphasis on natural viticulture underline this attitude.
Community and socially committed.
Cristom Vineyards is actively involved in the community and supports social and charitable projects. The winery participates in local events and initiatives to promote both the wine industry and the local community. Their efforts range from promoting cultural exchange to supporting environmental projects, making Cristom an important and valued member of the regional community.
"Our family has a 100-year plan for what our land should look like in the future. Our style of farming will get us there."
