Römigberg 2017
Römigberg
Römigberg
Blackcurrant with floral spice.
In the glass, the Römigberg presents itself in a dense ruby red with violet reflections. The color appears deep yet clear, without cloudiness. Slightly lighter at the rim, indicating ripeness, not fatigue. The viscosity is noticeable, hinting at substance and concentration.
Precise and calm on the nose. Blackcurrant, dark cherry, and a hint of cassis are clearly prominent. Accompanied by cedarwood, graphite, and a delicate smoky note. Nothing loud, rather focused with a cool, alpine freshness in the background.
On the palate, it is taut and controlled. The fruit remains dark, supported by fine-grained tannins. The acidity is present but perfectly integrated. Notes of black tea, cocoa, and a hint of herbal spice provide depth. The finish is long, dry, and very precise.
This wine from the 2017 vintage was carefully vinified from Vernatsch grapes in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. The special terroir character and the gentle vinification underline the uniqueness of this wine.
The Alois Lageder family looks back on a long tradition dating back to 1823. In the midst of the picturesque landscape of South Tyrol, the winery produces lively and crisp wines, with a love of craftsmanship and a connection to nature at the heart of the process.
