Tourelles Red

Juicy plum with cherry blossoms.
The cuvée of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan shines in a fine and majestic red.
The nose reveals mysterious aromas of ripe, dark fruits.
On the palate, the pleasantly cool aromas caused by the sand-lime brick and clay are accompanied by the taste of juicy plums and the aroma of cherry blossoms on a warm, quiet spring night. The finish of the cuvée is not intrusive but also not fleeting, but rather provides a pleasant lingering effect of the impressive fruitiness of Lebanon.
The four different grape varieties are fermented individually. They are then cuveted so that they can mature together again in concrete tanks. This wine reflects the typicality of the Beeka Valley and shows in an impressive way what Lebanese wine can do.
In Lebanon's oldest commercial winery, Faouzi Issa and his family grow wines like those in Bordeaux. At an altitude of over 1,000 meters. In the desert.
Even in pre-Roman times, Lebanese wine was considered a sought-after commodity. This tradition was kept alive by French Jesuits during the centuries of Muslim rule. This is how the Frenchman Francois-Eugène Brun fell in love with the Bekaa Valley in 1868 and founded the first commercial winery in Lebanon, Domaine des Tourelles (French: tourelles = little tower). The winery is now owned by the Issa family (relatives of the Brun family) and is largely managed and run by the younger generation, Faouzi Issa and his sisters Christiane and Johanne.
