Reserve Shiraz 109

Complex plum with spicy olive.
Shiraz 109 has a deep red color with purple reflections.
Dark red fruits dominate the first aromatic impression on the nose. The highlights here are juicy plum and black cherry. Fine oak notes from the French barrel and black olive are framed by pepper and anise.
In terms of taste, this Shiraz runs all courses to the full. Full-bodied, rich, complex and concentrated. The fruity plum and cherry notes are complemented by liquorice and a fine spicy note. The tannins are delicate and silky - they give the wine an elegant and emphatic length.
The top selection of Shiraz barrels pays off with the Shiraz 109. It clearly shows the power and complexity that is typical of a Clare Valley Shiraz. It was stored for 18 months in elegant French oak.
The Paulett family crossed half a continent after deciding to make wines big where they had previously been small. They now make the world's best Riesling and Shiraz.
In the 1980s, Neil and Alison Paulett decided to move to the Polish Hills in the Clare Valley. Australia was in recession and suffering from a severe drought. They chose the most beautiful place in the whole of the Clare Valley, a region that was only just making a name for itself as a wine region. Everything spoke against it, but the Paulett couple fought their dream through and are now the proud address for the best Riesling in the world (Best of 500 - International Riesling Challenge). The younger Paulett generation, Matt and Ali, now have the reins and are successfully driving the family business forward. They continue to produce Riesling, Shiraz and sparkling wines.
