Absolu, a wine that represents the finest organic selection of Astros vines. Vines that capture the lightest and most typical Provençal terroir, limestone and dry soils and the poetry and magic of the estate.
The passionate family captures the unadulterated beauty of nature, the castle and the Provencal sun in bottles, creating moments to last forever.
The current owner, Bernard Maurel, gave the decisive impetus to winemaking in the Maurel family and for the Astros star castle in 1963. He restarted winemaking on the estate, planted new grape varieties and built a wine cellar near the castle. AOC Côtes-de-Provence has been produced there since 1970 - initially red, but now the focus is on rosé. The year 2021 was the year of glory for the new Château d'Astros. The younger Maurel generation has now taken over the reins of the Knights Templar estate and is now practicing organic viticulture with complete conviction.
