wine description

Opulent peach with seductive apple.

This Chardonnay impresses in the glass with its intense, brilliant golden yellow, enlivened by clear reflections. The viscosity and the strong luminosity of the wine indicate its elegant fullness and the deep-rooted maturity of the Bekaa Valley.

The nose is greeted by aromas of ripe peaches and apples, which blend harmoniously with fine oak and butter notes. A gentle honey note and subtle mineral accents give the fragrance depth and make it complex and seductive at the same time.

In the mouth, the wine is powerful and round, carried by lively acidity that gives it freshness and liveliness. The creamy texture blends with notes of ripe fruit, citrus and a subtle spiciness that refine the long finish.

This Chardonnay is the result of traditional methods and the unique soils of the Bekaa Valley. The combination of calcareous and clayey soils and the cool, dry nights give it an unmistakable minerality and precise structure - a true declaration of love for the terroir.

Domaine des Tourelles

In Lebanon's oldest commercial winery, Faouzi Issa and his family grow wines like those in Bordeaux. At an altitude of over 1,000 meters. In the desert.

Even in pre-Roman times, Lebanese wine was considered a sought-after commodity. This tradition was kept alive by French Jesuits during the centuries of Muslim rule. This is how the Frenchman Francois-Eugène Brun fell in love with the Bekaa Valley in 1868 and founded the first commercial winery in Lebanon, Domaine des Tourelles (French: tourelles = little tower). The winery is now owned by the Issa family (relatives of the Brun family) and is largely managed and run by the younger generation, Faouzi Issa and his sisters Christiane and Johanne.
