The Christophe Semaska Chateau de Montlys Côte-Rôtie is a deep garnet red with violet reflections. The clear and dense appearance, complemented by slow, elegant streaks, indicates a complex, concentrated wine with finesse.
The bouquet combines aromas of black fruits such as blackberries and blackcurrants with notes of tobacco, vanilla and oak. Earthy nuances of forest floor and leather blend with hints of pepper, liquorice and floral accents of violets.
On the palate, the wine shows a perfect balance between power and elegance. The velvety tannins and fresh acidity harmonize with the aromas of dark fruits and spicy notes. A long, complex finish is carried by earthy and woody nuances.
This Côte-Rôtie is made from Syrah grapes grown on steep, terraced vineyards in the northern Rhône. Hand-picking and precise vinification, followed by maturation in French oak barrels, give the wine depth, structure and remarkable elegance.
