In the glass, the 50th Parallel Estate Pinot Noir presents itself with a medium ruby red color, with light violet reflections. The clarity of the wine is impressive, its slightly oily viscosity betrays the high alcohol content and the elegance of this wine.
The scent of the Pinot Noir reveals juicy cherries, ripe raspberries and a hint of black cherries. The bouquet is complemented by smoky oak, a hint of tobacco and a subtle note of dried herbs, which round off the aromatic profile wonderfully.
On the palate, the wine unfolds with velvety tannins and a lively acidity. The balance between freshness and structure is masterful. Notes of red fruits, roasted vanilla and a delicate pepperiness ensure an elegant and complex finish.
The Pinot Noir is produced with the utmost precision. The grapes come from sustainably managed vineyards in the Okanagan Valley. The wine is partly aged in French barriques, which gives the wine its depth and gentle spiciness.
