Intense Blackberry & Dark Chocolate.
Deep ruby red with purple reflections, dense as velvet under candlelight. The wine settles heavily in the glass, leaving slow, oily streaks. This rich play of colors promises density and depth – a visual prelude that immediately signals: here comes substance, no lightweight.
The nose is dominated by dark fruit – blackberry, black cherry, and a hint of stewed plum. These are joined by notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, and a fine spiciness of cinnamon and tobacco. With a little air, a cool, mineral note reminiscent of damp stone emerges.
On the palate, the wine is powerful yet refined. Juicy dark fruits meet creamy oak, the tannins are present yet silken. The acidity keeps everything taut, while notes of cocoa and smoke linger long. A Zweigelt with backbone and finesse at the same time.
This Zweigelt comes from old vineyards around Lake Neusiedl, where warm days and cool nights bring perfect ripeness. Aging in small oak barrels lends it structure and depth. The result: a wine with character, balance, and that dark nobility that only patience can create.
