    Weinbeschreibung

    Tropical fruit with mineral flower.

At first glance, it becomes clear: “This Pinot Gris does not want to be normal.” A mysterious cloudiness dominates the delicate yellow wine in the glass.

The nose offers apple, ripe pear, and quince, along with yeast, bread crust, and a hint of wet stone. The aromatics are deliberately wild but controlled. No overt fruitiness, but rather depth, spice, and a slightly oxidative note that creates tension.

On the palate, the Schmutzige shows its true character. It becomes increasingly austere and brings an almost Nordic, cooling minerality that brings out aromas of flowers and rhubarb. Smoky elements and meaty notes also come through. Everything is packed together in an exciting way and supported by a strong but not intrusive alcohol and tannin structure.

The Pinot Gris is bottled unfiltered and spontaneously fermented, intentionally without fining. Long lees aging and minimal intervention shape its character. It is aged without wood or artificial effects. The result is a distinctive natural wine style with conviction, character, and palpable origin.

Reflect the special characteristics of each location. The opposite of mass products geared towards success.

Anyone who gets to know Felix Mayer is usually impressed by his positive, straightforward and always authentic manner. Felix's wines could be described in a similar way. He himself says: "It all starts with a vine and an idea. I find it fascinating to create wines in daily interaction with nature - if possible without chemical aids, without compromises. For me, "unfiltered" is not just a technical question, but a way of life."
