Corton Rognet Grand Cru 2012
Corton Rognet Grand Cru
Blackcurrant with truffle coffee nuances.
The Corton Rognet Grand Cru 2012 from Domaine Taupenot-Merme presents itself in deep purple with a slightly brownish rim, which indicates its mature elegance.
The nose is caressed by ripe blackcurrants, subtle truffle notes and a hint of leather, while light hints of roasted coffee pamper the senses.
A velvety texture with firm, elegant tannins unfolds in the mouth. Flavors of dark chocolate and cherry compote combine harmoniously, accompanied by a refreshing acidity.
This wine has been lovingly aged in oak barrels, giving it a subtle vanilla note and a complex structure. The 2012 edition is in full bloom.
Virginie and Romain have revived a sleeping giant.
The siblings Virginie and Romain Taupenot cultivate over 13 hectares with 19 appellations from Auxey-Duressees in the south to Gevrey-Chambertin in the north of the Côte d'Or, producing a range that is as diverse as it is qualitatively homogeneous. Since the beginning of the millennium, organic farming without labels has revived a wine region that was born in 1974 from the union of the two owner families and that has since then awaited the passionate commitment of the current generation of owners to revive the full potential of the highly sought-after plots, in particular Mazoyères-Chambertin and Charmes Chambertin in the Grand Cru.
