Where Romans first settled, strong red wine has been grown for over 400 years.
In the traditional Côtes-du-Rhône wine appellation, the tranquil village of Laudun is located on the right bank of the Rhône. Just outside of it is Château Courac, which the young Arnaud family bought in 1995.
Frederic Arnaud comes from a family of winemakers and thus brings a lot of tradition with him. His roots in Sicily also give him a good feeling for the subtleties, flavors and mysticism of wine. He inspired his wife Joséphine to get into the wine business and finally, in 1995, had the unique opportunity to buy a castle on the Rhône: Château Courac.
Driven by a fascination and passion for wine, the young family grew wine on the southern slopes of the region with sandy loam soils - as is the tradition around Laudun. The result: a deep red wine that tells stories of archaeological finds by the Romans and a future that is close to nature and environmentally friendly. An exciting wine.
All organic or what?
There are many definitions of what NATURAL means in winemaking. Not all winemakers are certified to treat nature responsibly. So we check for ourselves on site whether a winemaker meets our standards for treating the natural product wine.
