ON THE HUNT FOR THE PAIRING MOMENT

We asked ourselves: What does the moment look like when you taste that the wine and food go together perfectly? Or even better, when the wine enhances your entire meal?

We tried it out and asked people in Stuttgart if we could choose a wine to go with their street food. Our ultimate goal was to capture this ONE moment of enjoyment in the wild on camera. ///

Saturday afternoon in summer - the streets still warm from the day before, blue skies - only a warm breeze of weekend joy blows through the Swabian metropolis. The Vioneers marketing team groans as they lug backpacks full of tempered wines through the city center, eyes open - constantly on the lookout for wine-hungry lunchtime guests with food at the ready.

The question arises: how do you disturb people who are eating? Shouting HEY loudly? Sniffing someone else's food? Simply pouring the right wine over the food?
We decided to use the wine bottle gesture.

It turns out that “Daniel” waved us back and we recognize a crunchy wild herb salad with nuts, summer vegetables and Italian hard cheese in his ToGo box.

The focus is on our sommelier Theresa. Which wine will she choose? Which wine would you choose?

Theresa chooses a cool, semi-dry Chardonnay from California: Sand Point Chardonnay. This Chardonnay is the perfect summer wine with the perfect balance of tropical fruit, apple and pear. It goes incredibly well with the cool salad. As we have learned, a pairing is not only about the matching aromas but also about the intensity of the food The salad as a template would be a 1 on our scale – but with nuts and cheese it rises to a 2. So the Sand Point Chardonnay perfect for that.

During the course of the day, all kinds of reactions were present. Both rejection and joyful participation. At the end of the day, however, the beautiful moments with interesting people prevailed. Did we manage to capture the PAIRING MOMENT? Judge for yourself, you can find all the pictures on our Instagram account @vioneers.wine.

What was great for us was to see that the wines from Vioneers made every meal that little bit better. Even though food & wine pairing will probably remain exceptional in street food.
