La Marciana
Mars wines: The passion of two families.
This is where ancient Spanish family traditions in winemaking, 120-year-old vines and an Austrian-French couple come together. The result: aromas, flavors and sensations that are out of this world. These are the wines from Mars.

The Serrano family has been growing wine in the Rioja Oriental for generations. With the same enthusiasm, a German-Austrian-French couple came and founded a winery with them.
The Bodegas La Marciana has its origins in the shared passion of two families. The Serrano family - more precisely: Andrés, Ramón & Álvaro - can look back on a centuries-old family tradition of winemaking in Andosilla in the Rioja. Their family owns the Mariano vineyard, which has never been vinified individually. The vines on Mariano were planted in 1900 - that's 120 years ago. On the other side are Philipp and Nadine - she a French communications specialist, he an Austrian oenologist (incidentally, Kai Schubert's roommate and friend during their time as students in Geisenheim). What unites the two families is their passion for wine, their love of Rioja and the awareness that the Mariano site with its 120-year-old vines is something very special. This site is also the basis for the passionate challenge for the two winemakers Nadine and Philipp: they want to combine the expressive style of winemaking from Châteauneuf du Pape with a focus on single-vineyard wines and pure terroir from Burgundy. A challenge that they master with flying colors.
Respectful with nature so that it can give us unique wine.
The Serrano-Arriezu family has been practicing biodynamic viticulture for a long time to produce a fabulous organic wine that seems out of this world. Andrés is pure passion - full of love for his vineyards, the environment and full of respect for natural cycles and biodynamic agriculture.
The love of nature is expressed in the patron saint of the winery: During the first harvest, a northern Spanish lizard was hiding, which was cooled down to 4 degrees in the cold storage room with the grapes. After the stowaway was discovered, it was carefully and slowly brought back to operating temperature and happily released into nature. Since then, it has watched over the families' vines, has even made it into the winery's logo and ensures a fabulous harvest every year.
Honest family work.
Andrés brother Ramón is aware of the quality of each individual grape in the cellar and brings the necessary experience. Álvaro, from the younger generation, brings a breath of fresh air and a complementary perspective to the equation. The three work together in a perfectly synchronized symbiosis and make the best of each grape variety. Family work par excellence.
"Our vines are cultivated biodynamically to extract the maximum aromas and flavors. The result is sensations from another planet: they are the wines of Mars."
